The Castle of Thiene (VI) is taking part in the initiative and, once again this year, will open its doors free of charge to let you discover this pre-Palladian villa: the salons of the east wing with frescoes, paintings, and period furnishings; the gallery on the main floor featuring unusual equestrian paintings; and the extraordinary stables.
Free guided tours will be available in the morning by reservation only, subject to availability, and will be conducted by students from the "A. Ceccato" Technical Institute of Thiene, tourism department, as part of a work-related learning project (PCTO).
From 1:30 PM onwards, the castle can be visited with an entrance fee according to the official rates.
On the National Day of A.D.S.I. (Italian Historic Houses Association), more than 450 exclusive locations such as castles, fortresses, villas, parks, and gardens will be open to the public free of charge, offering an immersion into the history that still today makes our country recognizable worldwide and that could become a cornerstone for the country's long-term sustainable development.
